Policy
Advertising Guidelines
TravelLog sponsored placements are designed for reviewed local businesses, coarse travel relevance, and clear labeling.
Eligible advertisers
Businesses must provide accurate contact and business details, pass access review, complete verification when requested, and keep public profile information current.
Prohibited categories
We do not accept adult, gambling, casino, cannabis, crypto, tobacco, vape, firearm, weapon, or political ad categories. We may reject other categories that are unsafe, misleading, exploitative, age-restricted, discriminatory, or not travel-relevant.
Disclosures and placement
Sponsored units must be labeled before a traveler acts on them. Labels may include Sponsored, Ad, Promoted, or a similar clear disclosure in feeds, trip suggestions, notifications, business profiles, and AI assistant answers. Ads must not look like private memories, unpaid social posts, independent reviews, or system recommendations.
Targeting and privacy
Sponsored matching must use approved placement rules, coarse context, aggregate knowledge segments, and user controls. Advertisers do not receive private trip trails, precise movement history, or raw personal capture data.
Creative standards
Ads must be truthful, clearly identify the business, avoid deceptive urgency, respect intellectual property, and link to safe landing pages. Claims about prices, availability, ratings, menus, or offers must be accurate and kept current.
Restricted or sensitive claims, including health, safety, financial, legal, immigration, housing, employment, alcohol, medical, or emergency travel claims, may require extra review or may be rejected.
Review and enforcement
TravelLog may review, reject, pause, remove, or require edits to ads, profiles, or business responses. Repeated violations can limit portal access or end advertiser participation.
Travelers can hide or report sponsored content. We may use reports, billing risk, verification status, landing-page safety, policy violations, or unusual delivery patterns to pause campaigns, reverse credits, restrict business access, or preserve audit records.
Billing and measurement
Billing, credits, impressions, clicks, and performance reporting are handled in the Business portal. Reporting is designed around aggregate ad performance and privacy-safe business insights. Business ad credits are separate from user AI credits and may be spent by approved delivery events such as sponsored impressions, taps, and sponsored assistant answers.
